On April 12, 2025, at UFC 314 in Miami, Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett put on a scintillating performance and smashed Michael Chandler with a third-round TKO. The greatest win of Pimblett's career thus far put him at an impressive 7-0 in the UFC.

In the wake of this defeat, Chandler, who was once a champion in the lightweight division of Bellator, has dropped his last three outings, and his record now stands at 2-5 within the UFC. His age of 38 has further raised questions about his prospects in the game.

With this victory, Pimblett has now entered the lightweight rankings at number eight, while Chandler has slid down to number twelve. The MMA fraternity is abuzz with chatter regarding Pimblett, with some going as far as to proclaim him the next global face of the UFC, perhaps even ahead of Conor McGregor.

Pimblett has already shown interest in fighting Gaethje and Oliveira but says he still has his eyes set on McGregor, whose name he says makes for a "mouth-watering" proposition.

Islam Makhachev's coach, Javier Mendes, declared that Pimblett deserves a title shot given his undefeated record in the UFC as well as his immense popularity. Yet Pimblett has professed that he would prefer one more outing before making any demands for gold. With that being said, either way, it seems like a title shot is very much around the corner.

As his ascendancy continues, the fans are eagerly awaiting Pimblett's next move. Whether it be achieving a title shot or a Code Red against McGregor, there is absolutely no denying the fact that "The Baddy" is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC today.
