Chandigarh, one of the greenest cities in the country, has beautiful views in monsoon. Nothing beats watching the rain while sipping a warm cup of coffee (or tea, if you prefer) and tucking into a delectable meal. While building bylaws prohibit skyscrapers, you can take advantage of the views at restaurants and cafes throughout town that offer cozy, window views.

Here are a few of people’s favorite things to do while enjoying beautiful views.

    Round the Clock, Hotel Mountview

5 Things to do in Monsoon in Chandigarh | Travel Diary

This 24-hour coffee shop in the Hotel Mountview is well-known for its cold coffee, pav bhaji, and, of course, the view. The uninterrupted views of the green lawns and pool are provided by the seamless glass panes. A good choice for long conversations because the music is always mellow here.

    Cloud 9, Hotel Shivalik View

5 Things to do in Monsoon in Chandigarh | Travel Diary

The location of this restaurant on the sixth floor of Hotel Shivalik View is advantageous. On one side, the multi-cuisine restaurant overlooks the cricket stadium, and on the other, Sectors 22 and 17. The buffet is famous, so we recommend you go during lunch hours. The view of the massive roundabout and landscaping is beautiful.

    The Upstairs Club

  • Ranthambore National Park – A complete Guide

Ranthambore National Park - A complete Guide

Ranthambore National Park, situated in Rajasthan, India, covers a region of 1334 square km and is bordered by the Banas River in the north and the Chambal river in the south. In 1995, it was designated as Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary and declared as the Project Tiger Reserves in 1973. The place is arid and deciduous and has an open grassy field with 539 flowering plants. The plants here are kind of tropical dry, deciduous, and barb. No place is better than this park in the world to witness wild tigers with the best photography element present here.

A complete heaven for wildlife fanatics, Ranthambore National Park also features fascinating locales, areas, and royal ruins that are more than just a widely-known wildlife habitat. It provides a prospect for tourists to participate in various activities, one of which is the safari ride, which is one of the most adventurous activities to witness animals wandering freely in the jungle. The civilization and customs also serve a vast significance that tourists cherish.

Experiencing the presence of a tiger just almost a few feet away is enough to drive your blood cold and increase your heartbeat. So, the management of Ranthambore provides safari benefits with two types of safari. One is a jeep safari, and the other one is a canter.

    Jeep Safari

Ranthambore National Park - A complete Guide

For a jeep safari, only 20 jeeps are permitted to enter the park in one shift. The jeep is a 6-seaters conveyance open from all sides to deliver the best viewing experience to its passengers of nature. The jeep drives only on the safari-fixed paths. The Ranthambore National Park is split into ten eco-tourism zones to ensure that the tourist gush is distributed evenly throughout the forest. A separate zone is allocated to each jeep vehicle, and the jeep cannot change its zones after entering the forest. But on a special plea, you can change your zone only after the park administrators authorizes it. You will need to expend an additional fee of around Rs 1000.

There are different timings for the jeep safari during the year. The timings for the entrance and departure are based on the sunrise and sunset. The first entry of the day takes place half an hour after sunrise and the last exit of the day takes place half an hour before sunset.

Here are the timings of the jeep safari during the whole year.

    1 Oct to 31 Oct – 6:30 am to 10:00 am

    2:30 pm to 6:00 pm

    1 Nov to 31 Jan – 7:00 am to 10:30 am

    2:00 pm to 5:30 pm

    1 Feb to 31 March – 6:30 am to 10:00 am

    2:30 pm to 6:00 pm

    1 April to 15 May – 6:00 am to 9:30 am

    3:00 pm to 6:30 pm

    16 May to 30 June – 6:00 am to 9:30 am

    3:30 pm to 7:00 pm

    Canter Safari

Ranthambore National Park - A complete Guide

The canter safari ride helps its passengers to explore the magnificence of flora and fauna of the area. Unlike a jeep vehicle, the canter vehicle is a 20-seater bus, open from all sides to provide the best adventure. There are two shifts issued in canter safari. One is in the morning, and the other one is in the afternoon. Only 20 canters are permitted to enter the national ground in one shift. So, after summing, only 40 canters can enter the park in a day. The canter safari presents a much more distant view to its passengers than the jeep vehicle, so it is better to have a canter ride than a jeep safari ride. Other than that, there is only one dissimilarity between both safaris i.e. the number of passengers is more in the case of a canter safari ride. Each Canter vehicle is allocated with a special safari zone on each shift. The canter safari is also not allowed to change its zone. The timings for the entrance and departure are based on the sunrise and sunset. The first entry of the day takes place half an hour after sunrise and the last exit of the day is half an hour before sunset.

Here are the times of the canter safari in distinct months of the year.

    1 Oct to 31 Oct – 6:30 am to 10:00 am

    2:30 pm to 6:00 pm

    1 Nov to 31 Jan – 7:00 am to 10:30 am

    2:00 pm to 5:30 pm

    1 Feb to 31 March – 6:30 am to 10:00 am

    2:30 pm to 6:00 pm

    1 April to 15 May – 6:00 am to 9:30 am

    3:00 pm to 6:30 pm

    16 May to 30 June – 6:00 am to 9:30 am

    3:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Half day safari and full day safari

Ranthambore National Park - A complete Guide

A new benefit has been provided by the Ranthambore National Park for its tourists. Now, the national park presents the facilities of half-day and full-day jeep safari. This facility will let the tourists spend more time inside the national park than the authoritative safari shift time of 3.30 hours. No constraints are there for safari paths and zones for both safaris. Visitors can spend 6 hours in the park on a half-day safari. It is up to them whether they like to devour these 6 hours in the morning or the afternoon shift. Only 5 jeeps per day can enter the park for both these safaris.
